On May 15 in Sarasota, Florida, Asheville Youth Rowing Association qualified three boats for USRowing Youth National Championships:  Men’s 1 Varsity 4 winning Silver; Women’s 1 Varsity 4 winning Silver and Women’s U17 8 winning Bronze.

Our Men’s 2 Varsity 4 Boat A won Gold and our Boat B came in 4th, just out of 3rd place.  Our Women’s 2 Varsity 4 Boat A won Silver and Boat B won Bronze.

We entered 7 events, made it to finals in every event and medalled in 5 events.

Congratulations to our kids.

Learn to Row Class in May 2022

The next learn to row class will begin on Saturday, May 21 at 9 am. The dates and times are as follows:
 
Saturday, May 21 from 9-11 am
Monday, May 23 from 4-6 pm
Tuesday, May 24 from 4-6 pm
Wednesday, May 25 from 4-6 pm
 
The cost for all four sessions of two hours each is $52.00. Please register and pay via this website www.ashevilleyouthrowing.com.
 
Please note in order to take this class, a kid must be 11 years old and either currently in the 6th grade or a rising 6th grader.

Next Learn to Row Class

The second learn to row class of 2022 will begin on Saturday, February 12 at 9 am.
The dates and times are as follows:
Saturday, February 12 from 9-11 am
Monday, February 14 from 4-6 pm
Tuesday, February 15 from 4-6 pm
Wednesday, February 16 from 4-6 pm
The cost for all four sessions of two hours each is $52.00.
You will need to wear long pants and layers on top.  Bring a water bottle.  A parent should plan to stay for a parents’ meeting during the Saturday class.
