Asheville Youth Rowing qualified two boats to attend USRowing Youth National Championships in Sacramento, California. Our Women’s Varsity Four won the B Finals making them the 7th fastest boat in the United States. Our Men’s Varsity Four also won the B Finals making then the 7th fastest boat in the United States.
AYRA senior signs contract to row in college
For the academic year 2017-2018, Asheville Youth Rowing Association had one senior sign a recruiting contract to row in college next year. Another senior was recruited by three different colleges but chose to attend a different college. A third senior was recruited but has chosen to walk on. This is the sixth consecutive year that Asheville Youth Rowing Association has had rowers and coxswains recruited to row in college.
Three AYRA athletes to attend USRowing Junior National Team U17 High Performance Camp
Asheville Youth Rowing Association is proud to announce the selection in the spring of 2018 of three team members to attend the prestigious USRowing Junior National Team U17 High Performance Camp. This is a highly selective process with invitations extended only after performances at Identification Camps held all over the United States.
Asheville Youth Rowing Association does not publish the names and identifying information of any team member in order to protect the privacy of minors. However, all of our kids received positive publicity from local television stations, newspapers and magazines.
