This past Saturday, we attended a scrimmage with Atomic and TriStar that unfortunately was delayed due to thunder and cancelled at the end of the race due to lightning. But it was a good start to the fall race season with all of our boats performing well. For many of our kids, it was their very first race ever.
This coming Saturday, October 4, we are HEADED TO THE HOOCH with our fundraising ergathon during which we will as a team erg 1,000,000 meters, or about 700 miles which is approximately the distance to Chattanooga where the Hooch is held.
The kids have been placed into teams and the team that raises the most money wins the right to name to the new wakeless coaching launch.
The ergathon will start at 9 am sharp on this coming Saturday and will go until all one million meters has been erged. All erging must take place on that day and in the boathouse.
Our athletes need sponsors and will erg 1,000 meters for every $10 sponsored. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, and family friends are all very supportive for this fundraiser.
If you want to sponsor a kid, go to our website www.ashevilleyouthrowing.com and click on the Headed to the Hooch ergathon where you can pay to sponsor. Under instructions, please add the name of the athlete that you are sponsoring. Or, let us know via the “contact us” link on this website.
And thank you for supporting our athletes.
